The City of Lebanon Civil Service Commission
will be testing for the position of CAREER FIREFIGHTER in the Lebanon Bureau of
Fire Starting Salary $35,000 Excellent Benefit Package For an Application and a
Job Description Apply in person to: Michelle Remlinger City of Lebanon Civil
Service Commission Room 116, Municipal Building 400 South Eighth Street Lebanon,
Pennsylvania Applicants may apply Monday through Friday between the hours of
8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The deadline for returning the completed application is
Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at 4:30 p.m. No applications will be accepted after
the deadline. A written examination is scheduled for Saturday, September 19,
2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Lebanon High School, Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Applicants
who successfully pass the written examination will be given a physical agility
test at a later date. Successful applicants will be required to pass an oral
examination, physical examination, psychological examination, drug test
screening and background investigation. All applicants must be a U.S. citizen.
All applicants must be eighteen (18) years of age upon the return of their
application. All applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED and a
valid Class C Pennsylvania Drivers License. Each applicant shall pay a
nonrefundable fee of $35.00 to cover the cost of the written test. An Equal

Additional information:
* Tours consist of 24hours on, 24 off, 24 on, 24 off, 24 on , 4 days off.
* No residency requirements
* There are currently 7 career firefighters assigned per platoon. There is 3
platoons.
* You should be given information and requirement on the physical agility
testing when picking up your application
* Individuals being offered employment with FF2 certification will not be
required to attend an academy, those without this certification will be required
to attend an academy.
* We do not have any EMS service run by our department
* at this time a list is being compiled for future vacancies due to possible
retires and new hires no vacancies currently exist
* testing for the job does not mean the City will be hiring.
